Timetable Maintenance - Timetable Definition tab key fields and buttons
Grid area fields
Field | Description |
---|
Timetable Group | Group the timetable belongs to. |
Use timetable grouping to maintain more than one timetable in your organisation. For example, your junior and senior school might have different timetables. |
Day | Day the entry applies to.
Note: If the Day is 0, it is the default day. This entry applies to all timetabled days unless overridden.
If you want to specify different definitions for some days, you can: - Use a number outside your usual timetable cycle. For example, if your timetable period is two weeks long, and you have an occasional day with different start times, use D0 for normal days and D11 for the special day.
- Specify a timetable definition for each day of your timetable. For example, if your timetable is one week long, and every Wednesday starts slightly later for a school assembly, specify a timetable definition for D1, D2, D3, D4 and D5, with D3 using the later start times.
Note: If you specify one period time for a day, you must specify all periods for that day. For example, if you specify a shorter first period on day 3, you must specify all the period times for day 3. |
Period | Period number, expressed as an integer. |
Even if there are no specific teaching periods, for example in the junior school, break up the day into periods with breaks for recess and lunch.
Note: Recess and lunch are not separate periods. To define them, make them part of the previous period and increment the Period Seq number. |
Period Sequence | Sequence of periods, when two periods share the same number. The period with the lower Period Sequence occurs first.
Note: Recess and lunch are not separate periods. To define them, make them part of the previous period and increment the Period Seq number. |
Time From | Start time. |
Time To | End time.
Note: Do not overlap the times of periods. |
Description | Description of the period. |
Attendance Entry | Provides the ability to selectively enable attendance entry on some timetabled periods of the day rather than all timetabled periods.
Select to enable attendance entry for the selected period. This is the default. In the following example, period one is set for attendance marking in the junior school. That is, the morning roll call.
Attendance entry for the other junior school periods has been disabled by clearing their Attendance Entry flags.

Override Minutes | Number of minutes the attendance period is applicable for, if Attendance Entry is selected. For example, your organisation only records attendance at the first and last period. |
If left blank, Synergetic calculates the attendance period by the difference between the start and end time. |
Year | Year this timetable record applies to. |
Sem | Reporting period that this timetable record applies to. |
Type | File type this timetable record applies to. |
