Important: Never alter configuration files unless you know the full implications of doing so. Changing these configurations incorrectly can cause Synergetic to stop functioning.
Note: You can also edit the configuration file outside Synergetic if required. See Editing the Synergy.cfg file.

  1. Select Module > System > Edit Synergetic Configuration File (synergy.cfg)....

Server Name

Name of the main database server.

Database Name

Name of the main database.

Database Server ODBC

Name of the main database connector.
Note: This information can be found in Windows Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Data Sources (ODBC) of the server that runs Synergetic.

Select whether to use SQL Server Application roles defined within Synergetic in the finance database.

User Name

New username for Crystal Reports to access the database.
Note: This must be an SQL Authentication account.

Create SQL Login

Create the SQL login in the User Name field for Crystal Reports to access the database.

Use Reserved ODBC Entry for Crystal Reports

Use the reserved ODBC server authentication for Crystal Reports.
Note: This is only used if you are using Windows authentication or another non-SQL authentication.

Reserved ODBC Server

Name of the server reserved for Crystal Report access.
Note: This information can be found in Windows Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Data Sources (ODBC) of the server that runs Synergetic.

Message

Message displayed each time Synergetic starts.
