ShowApplyAbsenceTypeAlwaysFlag

Description
The ShowApplyAbsenceTypeAlwaysFlag setting is used to determine whether to display fields used to set the absence details on the Create Absence Event window:

  • Absence Type
  • Reason
  • Comment.

Default value
The default value is False. That is, the fields and the button are not always displayed. These fields are only displayed when you select either one of the following filters:

  • Unexplained Slip with possible CoCurricular. See Resolving absence events explained by co-curricular activities in the Attendance and absence events manual.
  • Unexplained Slip with possible SickBay. See Resolving absence events explained by medical incidents in the Attendance and absence events manual.

The usual method of updating the details is by editing the fields in the Details area on the Create Absence Event window. See Individual student absence events in the Attendance and absence events manual.

Setting the value to True
Select the Value field on the Configuration File Maintenance window to set the value to True. See Maintaining configuration files.

If you set the ShowApplyAbsenceTypeAlwaysFlag configuration setting to True, the fields and the button are displayed for all of the filters. This allows users to set these fields for multiple absence events at the same time, if they have security access.

Note: At least one of the groups that the user is a member of needs to have security rights to the ApplyAbsenceCodesToMultipleRecords resource in the ATT module, as shown in the example below.
