The following example shows how to edit an existing query using the Query wizard, accessed from the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet created earlier.

To edit an existing query using the Query wizard:
- Open the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
- Open the Query wizard.
Note: In Microsoft Excel 2010 right click on one of the populated cells and select Table >Edit Query from the menu.
In Microsoft Excel 2003:
• select Data > Import External Data > Edit Query
• click on the External Data toolbar
• right click on one of the populated cells and select Edit Query from the menu (Microsoft Excel 2003).
Note: You can also refresh your dataset by selecting Refresh Data.
The SQL Server Login window is displayed. - Type in your username and password.
Note: This is your usual Synergetic username and password. - Click .
The Query Wizard - Choose Columns window is displayed. - Update the query using the Query Wizard windows. See Extracting data using the Microsoft Query wizard (on page ).
- Click .
The Query Wizard - Finish window is displayed. - Select Return Data to Microsoft Office Excel.
- Click .
- Switch back to Microsoft Excel.
The dataset is refreshed with the latest parameters.
