Sorting and filtering grids

You can filter grids to display only the items relevant to you, and sort them in ascending and descending order.

Filtering grids

You can filter grids to list only items that:

  • are equal or not equal to a number or piece of text
  • are greater than, less than or between a number
  • starts with, ends with or contains a piece of text
  • doesn't start with, end with or contain a piece of text
  • is before, after or exactly matching a date
  • is within a range of two dates.

Enabling grid enhancements

Grid enhancements such as filters are disabled by default. To enable grid enhancements:

  1. Right click on the grid you want to filter.
  2. Select Enable Grid Enhancements.
     

    Filters are enabled. A small arrow is displayed in each grid header.
      

Filtering grids
To filter a grid column:

  1. Click the arrow on the right of the header of the column you want to filter.
     
  2. Select the filter you want to use.
     
  3. Type the target to which you want to filter.
     
  4. Click .
    The grid is restricted to items that match your filter. 

Sorting grids
You can sort most grids into ascending or descending order by clicking on the heading fields.
 

Ascending order

To sort into ascending order (A to Z or 1 to 10):

  1. Click once on the heading field you want to sort by.
    An up arrow is displayed on the field by which the grid is sorted.
     

Descending order

To sort into descending order (Z to A or 10 to 1),

  1. Click twice on the heading field you want to sort by.
    A down arrow is displayed on the field by which the grid is sorted.
      

Pivoting grids

You can launch the Grid Record Pivot View window to switch between individual grid area records.

To pivot a grid:

  1. Right click on the grid you want to pivot.
  2. Select Pivot Grid.
     
    The Grid Record Pivot View window is displayed.
