Communication Types Maintenance - General tab
Communication types are used to identify the kinds of communications and their usual methods of distribution.
The following communication examples would be set up with their own communication types and notification (distribution) methods:
- your organisation's magazine with a postal notification method
- request for donations with a mixed notification method including postal and email.
Use the General tab to maintain:
- the unique identifier and description
- default values for the person who sends the communication and the method.

Type Code | Unique code to identify the communication type. |
Description | Description of the communication type. |

Type Code | Unique identifier for the type of communication. |
Description | Description of the communication. |
Notify Method | Default method for notifying the community members, if required. For example, notification can be via:

Classification | Document classification of the communication. See luDocumentClassification lookup table in the System maintenance manual. |
From | Name of the person sending the communication. |
Sender Email | Email address of the person sending the communication. |
CC Email | Email addresses of other people in your organisation who will also receive this communication. |
Buttons

Maintain the default email notification layout for the communication type. This can be loaded into communications of this type. See Maintaining email and SMS notification layouts. | |
Add a new communication type. | |
Delete the highlighted communication type. | |
Rename the communication type. |
