Class Maintenance - Students tab

Use the Students tab to:

  • view and maintain the list of students who are attending a class
  • allocate students to forms, houses and tutor groups at the start of the academic year.


 Opening the Students tab

To open the Students tab:

  1. Select Module > Students or Assessments, then Class Maintenance.
    The Set Class Search Criteria window is displayed.
    Tip: You can also access the class maintenance functions by clicking  or .

  2. Select the required class.
    The General tab of the Class Maintenance window is displayed.
  3. Click the Students tab.
    The Students tab of the Class Maintenance window is displayed.


Class Maintenance - Students tab key fields and buttons

Fields

Field

Description

Name

Student's name and additional information such as:

  • campus
  • year level
  • house.

Class Status

Status of the student in the class. For example, cancelled or left class.

Start

Date the student commences the class.

Stop

Date the student finishes the class.

ID

Student's Synergetic ID.

PTI Request

Status of the request for a parent teacher interview.
Note: This field is not editable. The value of this field can be maintained using the Modify Student Class Details accessed by clicking .

Modified Curriculum

Curriculum modifications implemented to cater for the individual learning needs of the student.

For WA, if you have loaded the CCWA reference data into luStudentClassModifiedCurriculum you can select:

  • Blank - not modified

  • AB - Abilities Based Learning and Education, WA

  • EA - English as an Additional Language/Dialect

  • GT - Gifted and talented

  • IP - Individual Education Plan/Documented Learning Plan.

Note: You can maintain curriculum modifications using the luStudentClassModifiedCurriculum lookup table. See luStudentClassModifiedCurriculum lookup table.

Focus Area

Specific topic of the class for the selected student. For example, for a music class the focus area could be Violin. See luStudentClassFocusArea lookup table in the System maintenance manual.

Note: You can add this field to the grid area by:

- right-clicking the grid area and selecting Enable Grid Enhancements
- clicking a column heading arrow and selecting Columns > Add Columns After
- selecting FocusArea then clicking the OK button.

Description

Launch Current Student Maintenance to view or update the details of the highlighted student. See Maintaining current students in the Current students manual.

Add a group of students to the class using the bulk add function.
See Adding students to classes in bulk.

Launch the Modify Student Class Details window. See Modifying student class details (assessments and reports).

Launch the Bulk Set Student Class window to change settings for all students in the class. See Modifying student class details in bulk.

Delete the highlighted student from the class.

Delete all the students from the class.

Show only the students currently enrolled in the class. That is, those without a stop date.
