2024-02 - Kiosk sign-in not auto superseding pre-existing events

Issue 

This issue applies to schools using the new generation Attendance Kiosk (iPad application)

If a parent has pre-organised with the school as to a student absence and the student subsequently ends up arriving at school, this would normally supersede the all day absence event automatically.

When utilising the previous generation Student Arrival/Departure Terminal (SADT) this currently auto supersedes, as does the Windows Client (SynMain).  This hotfix ensures that the new generation Attendance Kiosk behaviour is consistent with SADT and SynMain. 

Fix

  1. Download the fix from the link below

  1. Save to a location of your choosing, that you can access from your SQL Server

  2. Open and run the patcher

o   Open the zip file and extract the included exe file to your SQL server (or to a location that can communicate with the SQL Server)

o   Run the exe - this will run a database patcher wizard which will take you through the steps to apply the fix to the database 

o   The patcher can be applied with users remaining logged in to the system, and will only take seconds to run
