Use the Communications sub-tab of the Current Comms tab to maintain communications with donors and prospects that have yet to be sent.
Also, see the Notification Methods sub-tab to maintain the notification methods for each type of communication. See Development Maintenance - Current Comms tab - Notification Methods sub-tab (on page ).

 Opening the Communications sub-tab

To open the Communications sub-tab:

  1. Select Module > Development > Development Maintenance from the main menu.
    The Set Development Search Criteria window is displayed.
  2. Select the donor or prospect. See Searching for donors and prospects (on page ).
    The Personal tab of the Development Maintenance window is displayed.
  3. Click the Current Comms tab.
    The Communications sub-tab of the Current Comms tab of the Development Maintenance window is displayed.

Grid area fields

Field

Description

Code

Code used to identify the communication.

Description

Description for the communication.

Type

Type of communication.
Note: This is set on the Communication tab of Communications Maintenance. See Communications Maintenance - Communication tab (on page ).
Tip: Click to launch the Communication tab of Communications Maintenance for the selected communication.

Method

Method used to send the communication or whether no notification is required. For example, you might communicate by:

  • email
  • mail
  • SMS (text) messages
  • and so on.
    Note: Notification methods for each type of communication are set on the Notification Methods sub-tab.

Date

Date and time of the communication.

Primary

Whether to send communications to the primary contact only. The default is to include the spouse in all communications.

Bulk Added

This field is selected if the communication has been added in bulk.

Fields
The fields displayed correspond to the selected record in the grid area.

Field

Description

Communication

Communication with a group of people usually belonging to either a:

  • constituency
  • tag list.

    Select the communication from the drop-down list.
    Note: See Maintaining communications (on page ) to add and maintain details of each communication with the current recipients.

Date

Date and time of the communication.

Bulk Added

This field is selected if the communication has been added in bulk.
See Adding or deleting community members to communications in bulk (on page ).

Primary Only

Whether to send communications to the primary contact only. The default is to include the spouse in all communications.
Select to send communications to the primary contact only.

Comment

Optional comments about the communication to the recipient.

Method

Method used to send the communication or whether no notification is required. For example, you might communicate by:

  • email
  • mail
  • SMS (text) messages
  • and so on.


Buttons

Button

Description

Launch into Communications Maintenance for the selected communication.
See Maintaining communications (on page ).

Add a new row then input the details of the current communication with the donor or prospect.

Delete the highlighted current communication to the recipient, before you communicate with them.
