EnableSelfLock

Description
The EnableSelfLock configuration setting is used to determine whether a staff member can edit the same class from two different connections. For example, a staff member may have the same class open in two different browsers.

Enabling the lock prevents staff members from accidentally overwriting information as they work. If they are editing class results in one browser, they cannot make any changes to that class from a second browser. However, if they close a browser without exiting the class, they cannot edit that class until the lock has expired. See Lock:ExpirySeconds configuration setting (on page ).

Disabling the lock allows staff members to edit the class from multiple browsers at the same time, but staff members may overwrite changes they have made.
Note: Disabling the self lock does not allow multiple staff members to edit the class' results at the same time.

Default value

The default value is True. That is, the staff member cannot edit the same class from two different connections.

Setting a different value

Set the value to False by selecting the Value field on the Configuration File Maintenance window. See Configuration File Maintenance window in the Synergetic System maintenance manual.
