Use the General bar to view general information relating to the learning area.

 Opening the Learning Area Maintenance - General bar

To open the General bar:

  1. Select Curriculum > Learning Area Maintenance from the SynWeb main menu.
    The Set Learning Area Search Criteria window is displayed.
  2. Search for the learning area. See Searching for learning areas.
  3. Click the General bar.
    Tip: You can click anywhere on the bar to open it.
    The General bar of the Learning Area Maintenance window is expanded.

Description

Description of the learning area, usually the department or faculty.

Report Sort Seq

Where you would like this particular learning area to appear within the student assessments or reports when previewed or printed.
For example, if you set Mathematics to 1 and English to 2, all Mathematics subjects taken by the students appear on their reports before the English subjects.

Is Active

Select to make this learning area active.
Note: If the learning area is not active, it does not appear in drop-down lists in other parts of Synergetic.

Description

Navigate between learning areas.

Launch the Create New Learning Area window to add a new learning area. Type the details for the course and click .

Display the Learning Area Maintenance Search Criteria window.

You can update the search criteria and search for new learning areas. See Searching for learning areas.

Customise how the bars are displayed. See Customising navigation bars in the Introduction manual.

Create a new task relating to the current learning area. See Managing tasks in the Introduction manual.
