You can configure aspects of Synergetic to suit your organisation's needs, including the:

  • name and location of the databases Synergetic uses
  • username, password and server name for Crystal :
    - Crystal Reports
    - SSRS Reports
  • authentication method for Synergetic
  • menu background colour.


Important: Never alter configuration files unless you know the full implications of doing so. Changing these configurations incorrectly can cause Synergetic to stop functioning.

Note: You can also edit the configuration file outside Synergetic if required. See Editing the Synergy.cfg file.

  1. Select Module > System > Edit Synergetic Configuration File (synergy.cfg)....

Use Impersonated user when connecting to database

Whether connections to the database are performed using impersonated model users.

Note: Selecting this field is recommended because impersonated model users only need to authenticate to the database while non-impersonated users must have native access to all SQL database objects.

Non Finance User Name

User name for connecting the dbo and media schemas.

Note: This user should not have any access to financial schemas.

Note: You must be logged into an SQL account with administrator security access to change this field.

Finance User Name

User name for connecting to finance schema.

Note: You must be logged into an SQL account with administrator security access to change this field.

Authentication mode used by Synergetic:

  • SQL Authentication
  • Windows Authentication
  • Windows or SQL Authentication
  • Windows Authentication (password required)
  • Windows or SQL Authentication (password required).
Default User NameDefault username displayed in the User Name field when Synergetic starts.

Background Colour

Background colour of Synergetic menu. See Changing the main menu background colour.

Message

Message displayed each time Synergetic starts.
