Use the Image Removed Image Added button to locate text within a comment and replace it with alternative text. The Find & Replace function can be used in any view of Results Maintenance.Find and Replace (F2) button (synweb).gif
Note: The Find & Replace function only works within comment fields. You cannot search for words or numbers within Result fields.


Finding and replacing text in a comment field

To find and replace text in a comment field:

  1. Open the Single window of Results Maintenance. See Results Maintenance - Single window AnchorH_15888H_15888 (on page ).
    Tip: You can use the Find & Replace function in any Results Maintenance window.
  2. Click Image Removed or Image Added or press the F2 key.
    The Find tab of the Find & Replace window is displayed.
  3. Type the text you want to search for in the Find field.
  4. Click .
    The comment field containing the text you searched for is highlighted.

    Tip: Click repeatedly until you find the comment you are looking for.

    Note: The search only operates in the currently open window. To see results for multiple students, use the Class window. See Results Maintenance - Class window AnchorH_15916H_15916 (on page )..
     
  5. Click the Replace tab of the Find & Replace window.
  6. Enter the word or phrase you want to replace the Find text with.
  7. Select:
    •  to replace all instances of the Find text in the current window with the Replace text. Comments with replaced text are highlighted green.

    •  to replace the Find text in the selected textbox (highlighted yellow) with the Replace text. The comment with replaced text is highlighted green, and the next comment with the Find text is highlighted yellow.

    •  AnchorO_31610O_31610•   to skip to the next instance of the Find text in the window.

Click the  button in the Find & Replace window to display or hide the Options area.

Field

Description

Case sensitive

Select to search for text that matches the case of your Find text. For example, when Case sensitive is True, a search for "Good" will not highlight the text "good".

Show replace previews

Select to display a preview of the replacement text.

Highlight all with find value

Highlight all the comments containing the Find text pink.

Clear highlights

Return all highlighted comment fields to their normal colour.
