Please note that Victorian Curriculum support has also been retrofitted in v67 and is available from build v67.24.5
Teachers can continue to enter results with the existing assessment area items with any version of Synergetic that are currently linked to AusVELS.
The Victorian Curriculum framework will require an upgrade to the latest version 67 or an upgrade to version 68. These versions will enable schools to load the new Victorian Curriculum framework and Assessment result type look up tables. Schools will then be able to select the appropriate Victorian Curriculum result type to then link the appropriate code in the External link field. This will allow the Subject Assessment Areas to be calculated according to the new framework. It is a manual process to re-map assessment areas from AusVELS to Victorian Curriculum. In reference to using 'Other Capabilities' for Victorian Curriculum reporting, it will be possible to use Synergetic to store these results provided the four capability assessment areas have been set up correctly in Subject Assessment areas. |

Schools are required to indicate the expected mark for each student taking a Victorian Curriculum class. This task is managed by creating expected result assessment areas for each existing subject assessment area. For example, the Mathematics subject assessment area Statistics and Probability needs a Statistics and Probability (Expected) subject assessment area. In this case we create two assessment areas - one for the expected result and one for the actual result. Both results will be linked to the same curriculum record, however the expected one will have the new Expected Result checkbox ticked. It is also highly recommended that you prefix the headings with EXP as there is no other visual indication on the results entry screen that this is an expected result. These headings must be manually altered by the user.

Use of the Print on Report FlagThe use of the Print on Report flag, in the context of Victorian Curriculum reports provided by Synergetic, determines whether values are included in the aggregate being reported on. For example, there may be a 'reading' element across different subjects, where there is a value of 2 for English, a 4 for Math, and a 6 for Science. The Victorian Curriculum result for this would show an average of 4. If the Print on Report flag is deselected for Science, then the average for that 'reading' element would display as a 3. |
