Learning areas are essentially the academic and non-academic departments or faculties within your organisation. Subjects are grouped into learning areas to give department heads an easy overview of their classes, staff and students.
For instance English classes such as '7ENGA' or '8ENGC' would be placed within learning area code 'ENGLISH', as show in the diagram below.

Using the learning areas, you can get an overview of your teaching staff, and students who study classes within your department. You can add or remove classes from a learning area.

Maintain general information about the learning area, including the description and how it is sorted on assessment reports.

You can:

  • view or update information about all classes within the learning area, including:
  • class code
  • description of class
  • staff code of the staff member who teaches that class.
  • add and delete classes from the learning area.
  • launch Class Maintenance window for more information about the class.
