The Contact Name window is displayed first. Enter the primary contact name for the student. The primary contact person can be an individual, a company or an individual at a company address (personal company). The fields on the Personal and the Personal Company Contact Name windows are identical.

Create New Student - Contact Name window key fields (Personal)

Field	Description
ID	This field is no longer used.
Title	Contact's title.
Surname	Contact's surname.
Given 1	Contact's given name.
Preferred	Contact's preferred name. This field is automatically completed with the primary contact's given name. You may type another name if required. For example, if the primary contact's given name is Stephen, you could type Steve.
Other Given	Contact's other given names.
Gender	Contact's gender. This field is automatically completed when you select the primary contact's title. Note: For gender neutral titles the gender must be selected. For example, Dr. Note: You can define the list of genders used at your organisation using the luGender lookup table. See luGender lookup table.
Date of Birth	Contact's date of birth.
Mail Format	Address format for the community member. For example, whether their initials should be used or an ampersand instead of 'and'.
Contact is Student	Either: select the field if the contact is also the student clear the field if not. If the field is selected, the ParentFlag configuration setting determines whether either the: @PC constituency (Current Parent) @SCOC constituency (Current Student Other Contact) is added to the student. Field	Description
ID	This field is no longer used.
Occupation Description	Description of the company's main business. For example 'Garden Maintenance'.
Company	Company name.
Attention	Name of recipient within the company if required.
Contact is Student	Either: select the field if the contact is also the student clear the field if not. If the field is selected, the ParentFlag configuration setting determines whether either the: @PC constituency (Current Parent) @SCOC constituency (Current Student Other Contact) is added to the student.
